5 Ways to Celebrate International Women’s Day

Here at All Things Delicious, we believe in the importance of inclusivity and to provide the opportunity and platform for the women in our team to progress and thrive. International Women's Day is a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge what we have achieved and to recognise all that still needs to be done. Let’s celebrate! Here are the top 5 ways to celebrate IWD with your team!

1. Run a (virtual) coffee morning to honour your female friends/ employees

During IWD, you could conduct a coffee morning to have a bonding and catching up session with your friends or coworkers. This year, why not introduce the theme #BreakTheBias and encourage everyone to share their inspirational female role models or female public figures that they see as role models?

2. Show Your Support on Social

Engage in the conversation on social media by posting using the hashtags #IWD2022 and #BreakTheBias. Comment, share, like, discuss and learn about women all over the world joining the celebration. Get the conversation going by sharing books, podcasts, playlists, or blogs about gender equality!

3. Attend an IWD Virtual Conference

There are a lot of virtual events taking place to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day but this one caught our attention. Aperian Global is running a webinar to explore steps organisations could take to accelebrate the advancement of capable women into leadership positions, where you can join the Q&A segment as well to hear questions and share your real experiences and challenges. (Webinar will not be recorded to create a safe space for sharing) Sign up for free here. Do also check out another of our IWD blog articles on how female mentors helped some of the Team Delicious female members in advancing their careers and professional skills here.

4. The Value of A Simple Thank You

It's easy to forget the impact that a simple 'thank you' can have on other people. Why not use this special day to thank and recognize the women in your team or organisation for their hard work? At the end of the day, it is the small things that matter.

5. Wear Purple!

Wear something purple on 8th March to showcase your support for International Women’s Day. Purple has been associated with women's rights since the suffrage movement adopted it in the early 20th century. Now it is the official colour of International Women's Day so go on and wear your purple proudly!

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we will be giving the key female players in All Things Delicious the spotlight in our social media!
